Biography

Larry Gene Miller, 75 of rural Nevada died on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the Colo Community Center in Colo from 4-8:00 p.m. Burial of the cremains will be held at a later date in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.
Larry was born on December 19, 1936 in Cambridge to Lester C. and Lola I. (McKeever) Miller. On August 20, 1957, he married Joice A. Sutherland in Missouri. Larry was a mechanic at the DX Station in Colo for many years. He enjoyed working on cars and loved being with his children and grandchildren.
Larry is survived by 2 sons, Joe Miller and Donnie Miller; a daughter, Lola Davis, all of Nevada; 3 grandsons; 2 sisters Margaret Gaedke of Colo and Lugene Gaedke of Ellsworth.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife on December 17, 1984, a son Carl Miller on March 4, 2010, daughter-in-law Deb Miller on October 6, 1999, and a brother Pete Miller on September 23, 2004.
Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Larry and his family.
