Norma Ann Hillock, 73 of Nevada died on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the Living Water Fellowship/Assembly of God Church, 1325 8th Street in Nevada with Pastor Greg Kinzle officiating. Burial will follow in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.
Norma was born on February 17, 1938 in Lamont, Iowa to Fred M. and Essie A. (Ottomeyer) Fisk. She was a graduate of Oren High School. On April 12, 1964, Norma was united in marriage with Richard Lee Hillock in Waterloo. They moved to Nevada in 1974 and served as custodians for the Assembly of God Church for 30 years. Norma was a homemaker and wonderful mother. She enjoyed gardening, visiting with friends and family, antiquing, and hosting her tea parties.
Norma is survived by her husband Dick Hillock of Nevada; a daughter, Dee Baker of Ames; two sons, Kevin Hillock and Scott (Vicki) Hillock, all of Nevada; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother William Fisk of Waverly; and a brother-in-law, Dwayne (Laura) Ott of Fairbank, IA.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Geraldine Ott, a sister-in-law Leona Fisk, and a nephew Douglas Fisk.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28 with the family present from 5:00-7:30 p.m. at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 708 Fifth Street in Nevada.
A memorial fund has been established to purchase a memorial brick at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
